# Mordily Evocative Models Rook Floro Brings the Repressed to Life Through These Scuptures By Andrew Robertson | Published 2012-04-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rook-floro References: [ineedaguide.blogspot](http://ineedaguide.blogspot.ca/2012/03/rook-floro.html) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/rookie) These [dark and haunting sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection) by Rook Floro are a reflection of the artist's inner struggles and attempt to define oneself. Commenting on 'Shell,' the sculpture of a figure on all fours with a rip down the back, Rook Floro says, "It is a comment upon how every time a person tries to become someone they are not, they lose their [true selves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity) bit by bit leaving behind a part of them." The sculptures all seem to possess an [unnatural animation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anima) about them, as if they were a mass of swirling liquid reminiscent of the T1000 from Terminator. Beautifully constructed with a sense of macabre self reflection, these models by Rook Floro are filled with an emotion that many try to keep contained and unexpressed. Here, the repressed becomes the animated. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dark Art Sculptures:** Opportunity for artists to explore deep emotions and express the repressed. - **Macabre Self Reflection:** Space for artists to create evocative pieces that provoke introspection and self-exploration. - **Animating Repressed Emotions:** Platform for artists to give life to hidden feelings through sculptural forms. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** Artists and sculptors can use these trends to create unique and thought-provoking pieces. - **Psychology and Therapy:** Psychologists and therapists can explore these trends to help clients express and process repressed emotions. - **Art Galleries and Exhibitions:** Galleries and exhibition spaces can showcase these sculptures to engage audiences in deep emotional experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Collaborative Sculptural Art Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neojomon-biomorphic-fantme.md) - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Broken-Aesthetic Sculpture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brokenaesthetic-sculpture-collection.md) - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md)
