# Artistic Moon Projects Ron Miller’s Images Place the Planets Where They Are Not Located By Jordy E | Published 2013-04-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ron-miller References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/ron-miller-what-if-we-had-a-planet-instead-of-a-moon) & [spaceart.kinja](http://spaceart.kinja.com/) Ron Miller’s depictions of the moon draw viewers into an alternative look at the sky. In place of the moon are the planets, bringing Mercury and [Venus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venus-lounge) closer to the earth’s atmosphere. Seven different planets are used in Miller’s series. The planets depicted retain their ordinary shape and color, adding an authentic style to his artistic project. The size of the spheres is also true to their original masses, giving way to some large and small takes on the faux moons. A desert-based road is used as an entry point into the planets. As the road is going in one direction only, Miller has made it seem as if one is riding ride into the universe. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Alternative Sky Depiction:** Opportunity to create art that offers an alternative perspective of the sky using planets or other celestial bodies. - **Authentic Style in Art:** Opportunity to experiment with authentic representation of objects in art, such as retaining their true shape and color. - **Faux Moons:** Opportunity to create artistic projects using representations of the moon or other celestial bodies that are not located where they usually are. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** Artists can explore new and creative artistic projects inspired by Ron Miller’s alternative sky depiction. - **Entertainment:** Entertainment industry can use this concept to create new shows or films set in a world where the sky is depicted with planets instead of moons. - **Tourism:** Tourism industry can use creative projects like Ron Miller’s to attract visitors to unique and scenic locations, such as a desert-based road that appears to lead into the universe. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glass Solar System Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-solar-system-in-a-sphere.md) - [Textured Moon-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp.md) - [First-Ever Outer Space Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selenian.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Forgotten Theme-Park Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forgotten-fantasy.md) - [Lunar-Based Rotating Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion.md) - [Astronaut Night Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/night-light-projectors.md) - [Solar System-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmooval.md) - [Celestial Lounge Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venus-lounge.md)
