The sculptures depict [normal household articles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/small-muji) scaled to [irregularly large proportions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-inflatables). From a chewed pen cap to a used matchstick, it's almost as if Romulo Celdran is taking items that he's found lying around and expanding them with a particle beam. What really makes Romulo Celdran's work so distinct is that the sculptures actually look like they've been used. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Oversized Sculptures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to create large-scale, realistic sculptures that capture everyday objects with precision. - **Everyday Objects as Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Find innovative ways to transform ordinary items into art pieces that challenge perspectives and spark conversations. - **Hyperrealistic Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Use innovative techniques and materials to create hyperrealistic art that blurs the lines between fiction and reality. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Sculpture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine traditional sculpting methods with cutting-edge technology to revolutionize the art and sculpture industry. - **Design and Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists to create oversized home decor pieces that defy conventions and add a unique touch to interior design. - **Entertainment and Film Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate oversized sculptures into movie sets and create visually striking scenes that captivate audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Inflated-Illusion Ceramic Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-up.md) - [Virant Monumental Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-wolfs-group-exhibition.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Big-Headed Sculpture Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-pots.md) - [Industrial Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sized.md) - [Expanded Ceramic Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/future-fossils-1.md)
