# Romantic App Robot Assistances The True Love Tinder Robot Aids in Swiping Right or Left By M | Published 2015-12-16 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romantic-app1 References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/true-love-tinder-robot-a-talking-robotic-hand-that-helps-users-find-love-using-the-tinder-app/) & [nicole.pizza](http://nicole.pizza/true-love-tinder-robot/) The True Love [Tinder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-game-game) Robot is an art installation by Nicole He that offers a sarcastic critic to the romantic app Tinder with a fully functional [robotic assistant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tailor-robot) that helps consumers swipe left or right to find love. The sculpture is an interactive piece that cleverly raises the question of how sites such as Tinder function on involuntary decision-making. The art installation features a smartphone hooked up to Tinder and a robotic hand. Below the robotic arm is a set of hand sensors that invite viewers to place their palms into. As the viewer scans the uploaded Tinder profile, the sensors scan the emotional reaction and trigger the hand to swipe either left as a "no" or right as a "yes." The added element of technology to make romantic decisions in the piece speaks to how consumers are perhaps a bit unconscious in the process when using [dating apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/facebook-dating-assistant). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Robotic Assistants in Dating:** Exploring the use of robotic assistants in the world of online dating to enhance user experience and decision-making. - **Emotion-triggered Decision-making:** Incorporating emotional sensors in technology to enable more intuitive decision-making processes. - **Artificial Intelligence and Romance:** Exploring how AI can be used in the realm of romance to add a new dimension to the user experience. ### Where This Applies - **Online Dating:** The online dating industry can explore the integration of robotic assistants to improve user engagement and outcomes. - **Technology and Sensors:** The technology and sensor industry can develop more advanced emotion-detecting sensors to enhance decision-making in various applications. - **Art and Design:** Artistic installations like the True Love Tinder Robot highlight the potential for combining art and technology in innovative ways to provoke thought and discussion. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Dating Simulators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-game-game.md) - [AI-Enhanced Dating Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinder-ai-photo-selection.md) - [Romantic AI Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/true-love-portrait.md) - [Matchmaker-Trained AI Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-day-rule.md) - [AI Dating Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intimal.md) - [AI Dating Support](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flirt-like-a-pro.md) - [AI Dating Aid Bots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wittywingman.md) - [Ai-Supported Smart Dating Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/facebook-dating-2.md) - [Rom-Com Dating App Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinder-it-starts-with-a-swipe.md)
