# Ancient Numeral Candles These Roman Candles Will Make You Feel Ancient on Your Birthday By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-08-13 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roman-candles References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/401204607008637229/Roman-Candles) & [fredandfriends](http://fredandfriends.com/products/view/roman-candles-birthday-candles) These Roman candles make it easier to count the years on a birthday cake, especially as you get up there in age. This pack of candles is capable of counting from one to 89 years old, which is more than enough for a lifetime of birthdays. The kit also includes a guide on how to read Roman numerals, so that others unfamiliar with the system can embrace your age. Although the set's silvery grey color may remind you of Athen's stone temples and other ancient things that have been around for centuries, these candles do look better than a big "50" on a birthday cake. This is a unique way to celebrate the years with a healthy dose of humor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Roman Numeral Candles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of customizable Roman numeral candles that can count up to any age, appealing to a niche market of individuals wanting a unique birthday celebration. - **Educational Birthday Candles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a range of educational candles that feature different counting systems, teaching children and adults about numerals from various cultures and time periods. - **Humorous Birthday Decorations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design a collection of whimsical and funny birthday decorations, including candles, to inject more laughter into birthday celebrations. ### Where This Applies - **Party Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce a range of innovative party supplies, such as themed candles, to offer unique and memorable birthday experiences to consumers. - **Educational Toys:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop educational toys and games that make learning about different numbering systems enjoyable and engaging for children and adults. - **Home Décor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of trendy and unconventional home décor items, including unique birthday candles, that allow individuals to express their personal style and sense of humor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bakery-Inspired Scented Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joya-x-dominique-ansel.md) - [Candle Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candle-advent-calendar.md) - [Colorful Zodiac Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anthropologies-zodiac-candle-collection.md) - [Mythology-Inspired Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mythologie-candles-olympus-collection.md) - [Extravagant Candle-Filled Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candle-suitcase.md) - [Lifelike Egg Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/egg-candles-1.md) - [Ancient Rome-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romana.md) - [Chic All-Black Luxury Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allblack-luxury-candles.md) - [Unusual Limited-Edition Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bloom-candle.md)
