An experimental living unit designed by students from the [University of Karlsruhe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeidler-architecture) in Germany, it offers a dynamic experience quite like that experienced by a hamster in a wheel. By walking the Rollit modular house into a particular position, the inhabitant can access a bed, table, lounge chair, shower and whatever else is necessary for a [civilized existence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hirondelle-tiny-house). Obviously built for one, it is an interesting concept in these overpopulated times. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular Living:** The Rollit's modular design offers a new kind of living experience that can be adapted to different needs and preferences. - **Dynamic Interiors:** The Rollit's innovative design allows for dynamic and adaptable interior spaces that can be customized and optimized for specific needs. - **Compact Luxury:** The Rollit offers a luxurious and comfortable living experience in a small and compact space, perfect for modern urban lifestyles and minimalist living. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The Rollit presents disruptive opportunities for architects and designers to create innovative and adaptable modular housing solutions for a wide range of needs and preferences. - **Real Estate:** The Rollit represents a potential disruptor in the real estate industry, opening up new possibilities for compact and customizable living spaces that could appeal to urban dwellers and young professionals. - **Hospitality:** The Rollit could offer innovative solutions for the hospitality industry, allowing hotels and resorts to create unique and customized living experiences for guests with limited space and resources. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Wheel-Based Green Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-house-of-wheels.md) - [Integrated Engine Off-Roading Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubishack.md) - [Recycled Material Mobile Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contihome.md) - [Mechanical Legged Mobile Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-home-concept.md) - [Economical Modular Wooden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cake-house.md) - [Modular Tiny Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vettel-haus.md) - [Portable Wooden Mobile Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mo5-450.md) - [Compact Sustainable Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cabana.md) - [Expandable Trailer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pininfarina-foldable-trailer.md)
