Of course, its interpretation is quite unique. Instead of going for a very contemporary, playful creation, this [public seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-new-raw-1)’s sinuous presence is rather traditional and sophisticated. Located at a school in Beijing, China, the public space Rollercoaster by Interval Architects is fashioned entirely out of wood. With a very Asian aesthetic, shuttered wall details provides shade and shelter. Yet, it is its undulating curves that allude to its influence. By redefining the public space, the [long Rollercoaster bench](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balance-bench) provides an iconic image for this school. Humanistic and functional, it really captures the essence of childhood while preparing these students for adulthood as well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Amusement Park-inspired Seating:** Opportunity for companies to create unique and playful seating designs inspired by amusement parks. - **Public Space Redefined:** Opportunity to reimagine and transform public spaces with innovative and functional designs. - **Incorporating Traditional and Sophisticated Elements:** Opportunity to blend traditional and sophisticated aesthetics in architectural designs for public spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Potential for furniture designers to create innovative and whimsical seating inspired by amusement parks. - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to create unconventional and functional public space designs. - **Education:** Opportunity to incorporate creative and engaging architectural elements in educational institutions like schools. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Public Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-public-seating.md) - [Playground-Inspired Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-seat.md) - [Naturalistic Public Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-ark-outdoor-seat.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Bold Motion Bench Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheelbench-krllermller-edition.md) - [Autobahn-Inspired Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/winding-seating.md) - [Nature-Inspired Rooftop Skateparks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qingdao-mixc-rooftop-skatepark.md) - [Abstract Colorfully Vibrant Playscapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape.md) - [Tranquil Reading Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chapters-furniture.md)
