Developed by a recent graduate of China's [Zhejiang University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novara), 'Window' is a solution for people suffering from Season Affective Disorder (SAD) and improves the quality of life for others who have limited access to natural sunlight. Industrial designer Siyu Lou created Window as part of his Elastic series. Made out of translucent material and a plastic shell, the adjustable lamp emits an ambient light that burns more brightly as more of the roller shade is pulled down. Window could also be used as a reading light or bedside lighting. Currently crowdfunding on Allocacoc, the invention is also affordable, retailing at $29.95. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sunlight Simulation:** Opportunity for developing products that mimic natural sunlight to improve well-being and address Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) symptoms. - **Portable Lighting:** Opportunity for creating versatile and portable lamps that can be used in windowless spaces or for on-the-go lighting needs. - **Affordable Wellness Solutions:** Opportunity for developing affordable products that enhance quality of life by addressing the need for natural light and improving well-being. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Health and Wellness:** Opportunity for companies in the health and wellness industry to create innovative products that address light deprivation and promote well-being. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for the home decor industry to incorporate innovative lighting solutions that mimic natural light and enhance the ambiance of living spaces. - **Technology and Gadgets:** Opportunity for the technology industry to create portable lighting solutions that utilize advanced materials and design to simulate natural light. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Window-Imitating Smart Light Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vindow.md) - [Sunlight-Mimicking Panelled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunne-lamp.md) - [Sunlight Simulating Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-illuminated-shades.md) - [Daylight-Mimicking Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brighter-floor-lamp.md) - [Sun-Mimicking Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunled-sunbooster.md) - [Sunlight-Imitating Indoor Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunbooster.md) - [Circadian Bedside Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wake-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Measurement-Free Smart Curtains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-1.md)
