The device strikes a balance between screen-free smart speakers and full-sized smart displays thanks to its rolling display that will hide or reveal itself as required. Users can thus enjoy a small display for viewing track info when listening to music or relish in a larger one when watching videos on [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-smart-monitor-m80d). The Samsung rollable display concept is the design work of Cho Sunghwan, Lee Sooyeol, Park Youngeun, Lee Yewon and Kim Jeonghyun ([Unichest](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-heater)), and imagines a realistic future for smart home connectivity. The compact base paired with the adaptable rolling display could likely be put into production in the near-future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Adaptable Smart Displays:** New smart display designs can adapt to user needs, providing a balance between screen-free speakers and full-sized displays. - **Rollable Screens:** The concept of rollable screens is expected to catch up as the next-generation of smart home equipment. - **Future of Smart Connectivity:** Designers are imagining a future for smart home connectivity with advanced displays and efficiency in minimal spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Smart Home Industry:** The smart home industry can utilize adaptable smart displays to enhance user experience in their living spaces. - **Consumer Electronics Industry:** The consumer electronics industry can leverage rollable screens for futuristic innovations in smart technology. - **Interior Design Industry:** The interior design industry can use rollable screens as a space-efficient and versatile smart home accessory to meet modern demands. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Script-Like Foldable Display Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-flex.md) - [Rolling Productivity Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-phablet.md) - [Expanding Rollable Display Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-rollable.md) - [Future-Facing Smart Home Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlay-display.md) - [Space-Dividing Rolling TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vifa-skyline.md) - [Rollable Smartwatch Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-smartwatch.md) - [Foldable Sliding Display Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-flex-hybrid.md) - [Rolling Home Display Tablets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acer-aopen-32s1u-pro.md) - [Transforming Tablet Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-fold-mini-concept.md)
