# Scroll-Inspired Laptops Roll Me from Omer Sagiv Lets You Put Your Computer in Your Pocket By Michael Hines | Published 2011-06-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-me-from-omer-sagiv References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/roll-me-a-green-personal-computer-for-mobile-use/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_details.asp?individual_id=162803) I don't know why I am surprised by the Roll Me from Omer Sagiv. Roll-up keyboards are slowly becoming more common, so I guess it only makes sense that a roll-up computer would be next. The Roll Me computer is designed like a scroll and has a [bendable e-paper screen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epaper-computer). The computer can be used in either portrait or landscape mode, and is an off-the-grid design powered by solar panels. While I like the idea behind this design, I am not in love with its built-in keyboard, which is oddly shaped and small. Regardless, of my keyboard preferences, I believe that designs like this are the future of [portable computing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pokepad). Who wouldn't want to roll up their 17-inch laptop and put it in their back pocket? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Roll-up Computers:** The Roll Me computer with a bendable e-paper screen presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in portable computing. - **Scroll-inspired Design:** Designs like the Roll Me laptop, designed like a scroll, offer potential disruptive innovation in the realm of portable technology. - **Off-the-grid Computing:** The Roll Me computer's off-the-grid design powered by solar panels showcases possibilities for disruptive innovation in sustainable and portable computing. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Technology:** The roll-up computer trend opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the technology industry. - **Design:** Scroll-inspired and bendable designs like the Roll Me laptop present disruptive innovation opportunities in the design industry. - **Green Energy:** The off-the-grid computing trend powered by solar panels presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the green energy industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rollable Multi-Screen Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thinkbook-plus-gen-6-rollable.md) - [Sleek Computer-Packed Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-keyboard-computer.md) - [Script-Like Foldable Display Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-flex.md) - [Rollable Bamboo Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-slips-keyboard.md) - [Foldable Computer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/computer-with-foldable-screen.md) - [Briefcase-Like Flexible Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-briefcase.md) - [Rolling Smart Home Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollable-display-concept.md) - [Compact Productivity Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mnt-pocket-reform.md) - [Bendable Display Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-spectre-fold.md)
