The unit is equipped with a series of 3D cameras that will track the hand movements of the user to help them in their bid to learn how to play the piano in a new way. These cameras can also be utilized for hand tracking with artificial intelligence (AI) to help players augment the sound as they play for a new kind of experience. The brand commented on the ROLI Airwave saying, "With the simple raise of their hands, creators can transform a piano into a full orchestra, just as a conductor would, or morph mellow synth pads into searing leads with a tilt of a wrist.
