# Dual Rocking Seaters This Modern Rocking Chair Is Designed to Seat Two People at Once By M | Published 2016-08-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-chair References: [thekitchn](http://www.thekitchn.com/the-rocking-chair-for-social-loungers-234502) & [anthropologie](http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-garden/35153386.jsp) Rocking chairs are beloved seaters by many, but this version designed by retailer [Anthropologie](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farm-rios) makes the reclining activity a group affair by offering two seats in one. The chair is built to accommodate multiple people by positioning two chairs together into one unit. This allows two people to sit together and face each other, as a way to encourage conversation while relaxing. The Dual Rocking Chair is a contemporary take on the [traditional porch moveable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ready-rocker-1) that allows multiple people to enjoy the relaxing seesawing at once. The chair features two back rests that face each other, so both people sit facing each other rather than side-by-side. The curved legs of the chairs are joined so that both people rock at the same speed and can enjoy having a conversation while they sway. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Group Rocking Chairs:** Designing rocking chairs for multiple people creates an opportunity for shared relaxation and conversation. - **Contemporary Rocking Chairs:** Incorporating modern designs in rocking chairs offers a fresh take on a classic furniture piece. - **Conversation-focused Seating:** Creating seating arrangements that encourage face-to-face interaction fosters meaningful conversations. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore the production of group rocking chairs to cater to consumers who enjoy shared seating experiences. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can showcase contemporary rocking chairs to appeal to customers seeking unique and stylish furniture options. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, cafes, and other venues can incorporate conversation-focused seating to provide a more intimate and engaging experience for guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geometric Rocking Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair.md) - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Rocking Outdoor Chair Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-feet.md) - [Rocking Table-Mounted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Wooden Twin Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/same-same.md) - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Playground-Inspired Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-seat.md)
