Founders Elizabeth and Nora Sheils (two sisters-in-law) decided to create the business after working in the wedding industry for many years, where they grew increasingly frustrated with its lack of up-to-date technological solutions. “We were getting tired and fed up with tracking down contracts and checks,” said Elizabeth, who recognized that the newest wave of soon-to-be newlyweds were mostly tech-savvy millennials uninterested in working with physical checkbooks. Moreover, Rock Paper Coin functions as a "wedding binder" as it supplies couples with [budgeting tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-knot-budget-advisor) and other services. No doubt, a key to Rock Paper Coin's success is its implementation of a three-way communication structure that allows couples, planners, and vendors to connect and collaborate together.
