When reality star Paris Hilton had her house broken into by a gang of LA teenagers, they said they got in by finding the key under the mat. Now with this clever [key safe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advanced-rekey) from RocLoc, you are at least as smart as Paris Hilton. This rock key hiders is built to not just look, but also feel and weigh just the same as any normal garden rock. The difference is that inside is a small compartment to keep your keys safe. As a safety precaution, access to the compartment is guarded by a [combination lock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/specialized-padlock) that you can set yourself and is very similar to a bike lock. No electronics are used in the device, so you don't have to be afraid to leave it outside in the rain. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Outdoor Security Solutions:** The trend towards discreet and natural outdoor security solutions offers opportunities for companies to innovate with practical and elegant solutions. - **Stealth Key Holders:** As discreet key hiders become popular, new opportunities emerge for innovative design and technology to further disguise secure key holders. - **Locks Without Electronics:** As technology moves towards more advanced security features, locks without electronics offer an option for simplicity and durability that can still be desirable. ### Where This Applies - **Home Security:** Home security companies can capitalize on the trend towards discreet and natural outdoor security solutions by providing products like rock key hiders that blend in with home surroundings. - **Design:** Design firms and manufacturers can innovate with stealth key holders to offer consumers secure, yet stylish key storage solutions. - **Manufacturing:** Companies specializing in lock production could focus on developing durable and weather-resistant mechanical locking systems as an alternative to electronic locks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Key-Free Personal Safes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-biometric-personal-safe.md) - [Antitheft Car Key Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-key-faraday-shield.md) - [Ultra-Secure Connected Door Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netatmo-smart-door-lock-and-keys.md) - [Next-Level Digital Lock Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proximkey.md) - [Naturalistic Outdoor Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/focal-littora-200-od-stone-8.md) - [Makeup-Hiding Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elfs-cosmetic-security-line.md) - [Biometric Aluminum Micro Safes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trova-go-plus.md) - [Sophisticated Physical Key Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bellroy-key-cover-plus.md) - [Adaptable Key Lock Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advanced-rekey.md)
