The proposal for the project, entitled 'Barcelona Rock,' was created for the international competition 'bohemian hostel for backpackers.' Although the exterior of the hostel is a perfect for adventurous climbers, the interior is equipped with all of the standard necessities to unwind in a new city: fifty rooms (all with windows), a swimming pool, spa, gym, cinema and pub. The interior is even equipped with a [beginner rock climbing wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/musa-apartment) for those not feeling up to climbing the exterior or who are in need of a little practice. The proposal for the rock hostel in Barcelona is an innovative design that introduces an element of the natural landscape into the urban one. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Natural Theme Integration:** Opportunities for designing nature-inspired buildings in urban areas. - **Hybrid Hostel Ecosystem:** Opportunities for integrating nature-themed decor and architecture with standard lodging amenities. - **Urban Adventure Tourism:** Opportunities for creating unique, adventurous lodging experiences in city areas. ### Where This Applies - **Hospitality:** Integrating nature-themed hostels with standard lodging amenities for a unique travel experience. - **Architecture and Design:** Designing nature-inspired buildings for urban areas, to create unique, artistic and functional spaces. - **Tourism:** Facilitating Urban Adventure Tourism by designing unique lodging experiences that blend nature-inspired design with urban landscapes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Scattered Boulder-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rockbound.md) - [Nature-Inspired Hilltop Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/las-rocas.md) - [Off-Grid Mountain Shelter Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genius-show.md) - [Rock‑Like Coastal Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-rocks-visitor-centre.md) - [Hybrid Culturally Inspired Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japanese-and-spanish-design.md) - [Rock-Climbing Work Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-climbing-gym.md) - [Scandinavian Stone Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountain-chamber.md) - [Tranquil Suspended Hanging Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ardh-architect.md) - [Volcanic Rock-Formed Sports Club](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-club-pumas.md)
