# 40s Lamp Revivals Robolux Flower Power Lamp Projects a Floral Pattern on Your Wall By Howard Wu | Published 2010-04-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robolux-flower-power-lamp References: [roboluxstudio](http://www.roboluxstudio.com/RoboluxStudio/Home.html) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/43825061/no005-flower-power-lamp) The steel casing of this [vintage 1940s-styled](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joe-colombo) Robolux Flower Power Lamp fan and lamp combination projects a [flower pattern on the wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light) when turned on in a dark room. The casing's interior is painted orange, which allows the fan to glow and add a certain atmosphere to a room--much like a [lava lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp). I'm thinking the Robolux Flower Power Lamp could also have a strobe light effect, as the fan blade motions might filter the lighting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Vintage-inspired Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create modern reproductions of vintage home decor items with added features and functionality. - **Ambient Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lighting solutions that create unique and customizable atmospheres in rooms. - **Retro Aesthetic:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine nostalgic design elements with modern technology to appeal to consumers who appreciate vintage aesthetics. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce new designs for lamps and fans that blend vintage appeal with contemporary features. - **Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invent novel lighting solutions that enhance the ambiance of a space and offer customizable lighting effects. - **Consumer Goods:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of retro-inspired consumer goods that introduce nostalgia into everyday items while incorporating modern functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro App-Controlled Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appcontrolled-lava-lamp.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [DIY LED Flower Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floled.md) - [Dazzling Gradient Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb.md) - [Modernized Retro Lamp Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astro-lava-lamp-collection.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Mushroom-Shaped Outdoor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-obello-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Flame-Free Candle Warmers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-candle-warmer-lamp.md)
