# Markedly Open Abodes The Robinson Road House is Barren By Jordy E | Published 2012-08-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robinson-road-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2012/08/10/robinson-road-house-by-steve-domoney-architecture) & [domoneyarchitecture](http://www.domoneyarchitecture.com) The Steven Domoney Architecture 'Robinson Road House' introduces a remarkably open design concept. The Australian company produced the barren new age abode with a number of specific considerations in mind, among them the structure and nature of the surrounding neighborhood. Domoney's crew refers to the Robinson Road House as 'self confident,' a description that few would ascribe to a home. The chosen personified term is fitting however as the [cube-like structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-house) towers above the street in an unabashed manner. The [sheer plates of glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky-beach-house) that line the walls here offer anything but privacy. The almost transparent essence of the two-story Robinson Road House is however clean cut, eye catching and of course, modern, a common choice for contemporary construction ventures. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Open Design Concept:** Exploring open design concepts in architecture to create modern and eye-catching structures. - **Transparent Architecture:** Utilizing sheer plates of glass to create transparent and visually striking buildings. - **Contemporary Construction Ventures:** Embracing modern and clean-cut design choices in construction projects. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Opportunities for architects to experiment with open design concepts and transparent architecture. - **Construction:** Demand for contemporary construction ventures that prioritize modern and clean-cut designs. - **Real Estate:** Increasing interest in visually striking and modern properties that embrace open design concepts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Simple Material Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openfield-house.md) - [Spacially Contrasting Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barwon-heads-house.md) - [Lush Surroundings Glass Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-house-1.md) - [Precisely Designed Toronto Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-point.md) - [Anticipatory Architectural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vulcan-house.md) - [Compact Urban Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-house.md) - [Tranquil Facade Housing Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raw-house.md) - [Memory-Engrained Airy Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-lightness.md) - [Cutout Roof Cement-Clad Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edition-office.md)
