From [children's books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child) to magazines, his art has been shown in countless media, largely on account of its playful, silly but still undeniably distinct style. Interestingly enough, however, the selected pieces in this collection are all painted on [plywood planks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-chair) of about 4 mm in thickness with a mixture of [oil and acrylic paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition). Somehow, this oddly unusual sort of canvas seems to fit the content of his artwork flawlessly. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Plywood Art:** Using plywood as a canvas provides a unique and unconventional medium for artists to showcase their works. - **Mixed Media:** Combining oil and acrylic paints creates a dynamic and visually appealing effect in artwork. - **Distinct Style:** Artists like Robert Romanowicz are gaining recognition for their playful and unique artistic style. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** The art industry can explore new opportunities for using unconventional materials to create innovative and visually captivating pieces. - **Publishing:** Publishers can tap into the distinctive style of artists like Robert Romanowicz for book illustrations and magazine covers. - **Home Decor:** The use of plywood art can introduce a fresh and modern aesthetic to interior design, providing an opportunity for innovative furniture and wall decor items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Beautified Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plybord.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Wooden Identity Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/out-of-the-blue-exhibition.md) - [Striped Down Dimensional Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ron-arad-1.md) - [Laser-Cut Urban Artistry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-cut-city-maps.md)
