This [thermometer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/happy-seal) allows you to tell the temperature by the touch of your hand! This sturdy rock started out as a plain little aluminum cube, but has undergone extensive engineering to evolve into the piece of art lying before you today. Complete with sheaths of aluminium, bronze and plated silver, the device heats and cools according to the temperature outside. It has a minimum temperature of freezing and a maximum temperature that is safe to touch. Robb Godshaw's Cryoscope, doubling as a [mini modern sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crydal-scroll-clock), delivers an intuitive take on temperature accuracy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Intuitive Touch Thermometers:** Opportunity for development of touch-based thermometers that provide temperature readings through intuitive interaction. - **Future-oriented Thermometer Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating thermometers that incorporate modern design elements. - **Enhanced Temperature Sensing:** Potential for advancements in temperature sensing technology that provide accurate readings through touch. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Healthcare Technology:** Opportunity for healthcare industry to incorporate intuitive touch thermometers into medical devices and monitoring systems. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for electronics companies to create aesthetically pleasing and functional touch thermometers for daily use. - **Material Science:** Potential for research and development of new materials that improve the accuracy and functionality of touch-based thermometers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Kinetically Powered Smart Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bcool-smart-thermometer.md) - [Touchscreen Thermometer Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchscreen-thermometer-apps.md) - [Toy-Like Duck-Inspired Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ducky-thermometer.md) - [Contactless Smartphone Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tempbuddy-smartphone-thermometer.md) - [Non-Contact Smart Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiitcheck.md) - [Temperature-Monitoring Earrings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-earring.md) - [Magnetic Power-Free Food Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/food-temperature-detector.md) - [Accurate Temperature Monitoring Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-hygrometer-thermometer.md) - [Temperature-Adjusting Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stratum-workplace-thermal-comfort.md)
