Over the past five years, Carter has traveled through Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Spain, Scotland, Holland, Portugal and Barbados. In his travels, he has captured energetic and aesthetically alluring photographs. Carter uses a [revolving lens camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-walker-multi-cam), leaving the shutter open to stretch the image, and horizontally blur the scene into a spontaneous vision. The process creates a sense of movement from a still image, conveying the experience of traveling itself- disorienting, exciting and somewhat overwhelming. The images are then directly printed, without any digital manipulation. The London-based photographer runs a design company with his spouse. The couple revolves their projects around the expressive power of light, color and form. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Illusionary Movement Photography:** Opportunities for innovative photographic techniques that create a sense of movement from a still image. - **Revolving Lens Camera:** Opportunities for camera manufacturers to create revolving lens cameras that capture energizing and aesthetically alluring photographs. - **Authentic Travel Photography:** Opportunities for creating an alternative to standard travel photography using techniques that capture the experience of traveling itself. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** Innovative photographic techniques and tools that offer more compelling travel photography opportunities. - **Tourism:** Disruptive opportunities in travel photography that could lead to a more authentic and engaging representation of travel experiences. - **Design:** Opportunities to integrate illusionary movement techniques into design projects to create new and exciting visual experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Designer Camera Printer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-trance-camera.md) - [Kaleidoscopic Dream Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamachine.md) - [Emotional Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection.md) - [Illusion-Inspired Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection.md) - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md) - [Multi-Lens Capture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-walker-multi-cam.md)
