Although traffic cones serve an important purpose, they can be difficult and time-consuming to set up. The Warning Cone helps roadside workers save time and energy when blocking off traffic. The Warning Cone was designed by a team of researchers at Asia University. Instead of making individual road signs, the researchers came up with a folding traffic cone that can be expanded from its carrying base. The [accordion-like device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup) can be used to [redirect traffic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-traffic-management) and protect roadside workers from oncoming vehicles. Aside from its safety features, the simple device is also easy to set up and take down. The Warning Cone provides an simple and effective alternative to traditional traffic cones. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Collapsible Safety Gear:** Creating collapsible safety gear for a variety of industries could lead to faster set up and a more dynamic workflow for workers. - **Accordion-like Designs:** The use of accordion-like designs in products can lead to more efficient and easy-to-setup solutions. - **Smart Roadside Solutions:** Creating smart roadside solutions can lead to a safer and more efficient work environment. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction:** Integrating collapsible safety gear in construction equipment could lead to a safer and more efficient construction sites. - **Roadside Assistance:** Implementing accordion-like designs in roadside assistance products can lead to faster and more effective aid for drivers. - **Emergency Services:** Developing smart roadside solutions for emergency services can lead to a quicker response time and safer work environment for first responders. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Road Worker Safety Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/active-worksite.md) - [IoT-Connected Traffic Beacons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-beacon-concept.md) - [Adjustable Pet Cones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-cone.md) - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Inflatable Accordion-Style Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ventete-ah1.md) - [Character-Like Roadway Bollards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safety-bollard.md) - [Collapsible Space-Saving Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipclip-go-helmet.md) - [Origami-Style Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raba-helmet.md) - [Folding Smart Helmet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmets.md)
