Rinspeed is set to debut the BamBoo, an electric car constructed of [bamboo fibers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-drone), at the show in March of 2011. The Rinspeed BamBoo is an electric vehicle powered by [LiFePO4](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thearsenale) batteries, giving the Bamboo a top speed of 120kph, with a range of about 105km at 90kph. The Rinspeed Bamboo has a unique body that features no windows in the back, along with a removable roof. The Rinspeed BamBoo combines a lot of interesting elements and I can't wait to see it in Geneva in March. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Electric Bamboo Cars:** The use of bamboo fibers to construct electric cars opens up opportunities for eco-friendly transportation. - **Removable Roofs in Cars:** Removable roofs in cars provide a unique design element that enhances the user experience. - **Non-traditional Car Materials:** The use of bamboo fibers challenges traditional materials in car construction and provides sustainable options for manufacturing. ### Who This Affects Most - **Automotive Industry:** The automotive industry can explore the use of bamboo fibers for eco-friendly car manufacturing and innovative design. - **Sustainable Materials Industry:** The use of bamboo fibers in car construction provides opportunities for growth in the sustainable materials industry. - **Tourism Industry:** The unique design of bamboo electric cars could open up opportunities for eco-tourism and sustainable transportation services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bamboo Electric City Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-electric-city.md) - [Bamboo-Bodied Folding Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-folding-scooter.md) - [Foldable Bamboo Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-electric-foldable-scooter.md) - [Plant Fibre-Based E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hummingbird-flax.md) - [Solar-Powered Sedan Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-eqxx.md) - [All-Electric Dune Buggies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manx-20-electric.md) - [Beach-Targeted E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cafe-cruiser.md) - [Rattan Detailed Custom Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fiat-500-spiaggina.md) - [Open-Air Low-Speed Electric Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-moke.md)
