The lights are intended to be positioned along a path or at strategic spots around a property where additional low-level illumination is desired by the homeowner. The lights draw energy from the sun to function after dark and have a motion-sensing functionality that will turn on if movement is detected and alert the user via their smartphone to let them know something might be afoot. The Ring Solar Pathlight boasts [Amazon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blink-outdoor-4-floodlight-camera) Alexa voice assistant connectivity and will fit in seamlessly with any existing [Ring security products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-home-sensors). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Solar-powered Smart Lights:** The increasing use of solar-powered smart lights with motion-sensing functionality and smartphone connectivity provides disruptive innovation opportunities for the smart home solution industry to improve energy efficiency and home security. - **Motion Detection Notification System:** The integration of motion-sensing smart lights with notification systems provides disruptive innovation opportunities for the security and surveillance industry to enhance home monitoring and response capabilities. - **Voice Assistant Integration:** The integration of voice assistant technology with smart lighting systems provides disruptive innovation opportunities for the home automation industry to offer greater convenience and accessibility to customers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Smart Home Solution:** The development of solar-powered smart lights with motion-sensing functionality and smartphone connectivity presents disruptive innovation opportunities for the smart home solution industry to improve energy efficiency and home security. - **Security and Surveillance:** The integration of motion-sensing smart lights with notification systems presents disruptive innovation opportunities for the security and surveillance industry to enhance home monitoring and response capabilities. - **Home Automation:** The integration of voice assistant technology with smart lighting systems presents disruptive innovation opportunities for the home automation industry to offer greater convenience and accessibility to customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connectable Motion-Sensing Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/briteman-giangle.md) - [Outdoor Lamp Post Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-lamp-post-light.md) - [Solar-Powered Smart String Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/govee-outdoor-solar-string-lights.md) - [Quick-Release Battery Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ring-spotlight-cam-plus.md) - [Wireless Floodlight Camera Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blink-outdoor-4-floodlight-camera.md) - [Connected Outdoor Floodlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atomi-smart-wifi-led-floodlight.md) - [Advanced Exterior Illumination Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lifx-outdoor-lights-collection.md) - [Battery-Powered Motion-Detecting Doorbells](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/battery-doorbell-pro.md) - [Solar-Powered Floral Garden Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tree-house.md)
