The smartphone dock works by having the device positioned in place and providing users with a [gesture-controlled functionality](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flick-wand). This enables users the phone holder to be activated with a hand gesture, while those on the other end of the call can move the holder by swiping their hand across in either direction. The Rimo phone holder maintains a wireless connection with the device and is compact enough to not take up too much space on a table or countertop. The mount is designed in white and black color options, which both feature a speckled finish. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Gesture-controlled Phone Accessories:** Smartphone holders that respond to hand movements offer a disruptive innovation opportunity to the mobile phone accessory industry. - **Wireless Communication Enhancements:** The Rimo phone holder's wireless connection offers a disruptive innovation opportunity to the telecommunications industry. - **Integrated Video Conferencing Hardware:** The Rimo phone holder's video call support offers a disruptive innovation opportunity to the video conferencing hardware industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobile Phone Accessories:** The Rimo phone holder offers a disruptive innovation opportunity to the mobile phone accessory industry. - **Telecommunications:** The Rimo phone holder's wireless connection offers a disruptive innovation opportunity to the telecommunications industry. - **Video Conferencing Hardware:** The Rimo phone holder's video call support offers a disruptive innovation opportunity to the video conferencing hardware industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multi-Functional Smartphone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meboge.md) - [Wrist-Worn Smartphone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/match-phone-holder.md) - [Solo Vlogger Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gimbal-griptok.md) - [Facial Recognition Phone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-holder-tripod.md) - [Shifting Orientation Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-stand-charger.md) - [Adjustable Geared Smartphone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-smartphone-holder.md) - [Motion-Tracking Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-tracking-phone-mount.md) - [Freestanding Smartphone Dock Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jteman-phone-stand-and-speaker.md) - [Magnetic Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ganinno-r-stand.md)
