The images toy with your head, as they play with the [colors you naturally associate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color) with certain things. For example, green or brown are generally the colors associated with hills and landscapes, but for Richard Mosse, the infrared transforms those neutral colors into a red, almost pink landscape. His images of the Congo are [beautiful and haunting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) -- not to mention a little strange. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Infrared Photography:** Explore the potential of infrared photography to transform landscapes and create unique visual experiences. - **Color Perception:** Challenge traditional color associations by using technology to alter the perception of colors in artistic and commercial applications. - **Enhanced Visual Storytelling:** Harness the power of unconventional visual techniques to create captivating and thought-provoking narratives. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Photography:** Incorporate infrared photography into art and photography practices to push boundaries and create innovative works. - **Tourism and Travel:** Utilize infrared field photography to capture unique perspectives of landscapes and attract adventurous and art-loving travelers. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Leverage the mesmerizing and surreal effects of infrared photography to create attention-grabbing campaigns and establish brand differentiation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Agriculturally Inspired Art Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farming-photographs.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Artistic Photography Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moir-21-instant-film-camera.md) - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Night Vision Camera Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossibot-f113.md)
