The 3D works of art are shaped into popular characters from the sci-fi saga made entirely out of edible foods such as ice and seaweed. Piewpun's creations are incredibly detailed despite being miniature in scale and they offer a whimsical yet temporary appeal since they are made out of fresh foods. Each character is made using sticky rice that is left white or colored according to the character and rolled into shapes to recreate the aesthetic of characters such as Stormtroopers. Detail is added through piece of seaweed and veggies cut to resemble eyes, mouths and costume embellishments. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Edible Art:** The trend of creating intricate and recognizable characters out of edible materials opens up opportunities for innovative and visually stunning culinary experiences. - **Food Sculpting:** The trend of shaping food into intricate forms, such as these Star Wars rice balls, offers creative presentation opportunities for chefs and caterers looking to impress their guests. - **Novelty Food:** The trend of incorporating popular culture characters, like those from Star Wars, into food creations appeals to consumers seeking unique and entertaining dining experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food and Beverage:** Innovative food creations and food sculpting techniques can be leveraged by the food and beverage industry to stand out from competitors and attract customers with visually appealing dishes. - **Catering and Events:** Catering companies and event planners can take advantage of the trend of edible art and food sculpting to create memorable and Instagram-worthy experiences for their clients. - **Theme Parks and Entertainment:** Theme parks and entertainment venues can tap into the trend of novelty food by offering character-inspired food creations, allowing visitors to enjoy their favorite characters in a unique and interactive way. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Galactic Cafe Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Star-wars-themed-cafe.md) - [Collaboration Sci-Fi Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-oreo-cookies.md) - [Playful Space-Themed Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacethemed-dessert.md) - [Sci-Fi Franchise-Inspired Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-collection-2.md) - [Film-Inspired Cooking Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooking-with-pixar-series.md) - [Sci-Fi Film-Themed Cereals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obiwan-kenobi-cereal.md) - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [Realistic Food Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantlers-rations.md)
