Instead of finishing his [stunning sketches of animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog) himself, he employs little elven helpers to do the brunt of the work by coloring them in. Yet they don't do so in the typical manner. In place of [coloring pencils and paint](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woset), Ricardo Solis depicts them using all sorts of strange materials from [black ribbon for zebra stripes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lidris) and chocolate chips for a dog's fur. Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Ricardo Solis demonstrates an adorable sense of humor that is bound to find an audience in many different circles from kids to adults. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Illustrations:** The use of unconventional materials to bring illustrations to life introduces opportunities for interactive and engaging artwork experiences. - **Collaborative Artistry:** The employment of elven helpers by artists like Ricardo Solis highlights the potential for collaborative artistry, where multiple creative minds work together to produce unique and captivating pieces. - **Humorous Artistic Expression:** Ricardo Solis's adorable sense of humor demonstrates the potential for art to entertain and engage viewers, creating opportunities for humor-infused artistic expression across various mediums. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The use of unconventional materials in illustrations opens up opportunities for innovation and creativity within the art and design industry. - **Children's Entertainment:** Ricardo Solis's artwork, with its playful and whimsical nature, has the potential to captivate children and engage them in the world of art and entertainment. - **Creative Collaborations:** The concept of collaborative artistry and the employment of additional creative minds in the artistic process can pave the way for new opportunities in the creative collaborations industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Doodle-Emblazoned Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sam-cox.md) - [GenAI Storybook Illustrators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storybooks-illustrator.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Artisinal Tequila Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artisinal-tequila-bottles.md) - [Cheekily Creative Bookmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illustrated-bookmarks.md) - [Illustrated To-Do Lists](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colortodo.md) - [Transformative AI Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawings-alive.md) - [Imaginative Pared-Back Art Supplies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woset.md)
