It's taken a log time for designers to begin realizing gadgets that improve upon the abilities of such conventional cooking contraptions, and I must say, that this [concept hotplate project](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moritz-walter) is particularly brilliant. A semi-finalist entry in the [Electrolux](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electrolux-jodana) Design Lab 2011 competition, this curling strip stove can be effortlessly wound around the outside of pots, bowls, mugs and more. When the black side of the band faces in, the dish will be heated up, but by furling the belt in the reverse fashion, the vessel will be rendered cooler. The Ribbon by Enzo Kocak incorporates intuitive function buttons at one end of the strap so that your meal can be warmed to perfection. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Efficient Cooking Appliances:** The Ribbon by Enzo Kocak proves that there is a growing trend of designers creating gadgets that are more efficient than conventional cooking contraptions. - **Intuitive Function Buttons:** The incorporation of intuitive function buttons in the Ribbon by Enzo Kocak highlights the trend of making appliances easier to use and customize for optimal results. - **Innovative Heating Technology:** The coiling strip stove design of the Ribbon by Enzo Kocak exemplifies the trend of incorporating innovative heating technologies into kitchen appliances. ### Who This Affects Most - **Kitchen Appliance Industry:** The Ribbon by Enzo Kocak is a disruptive innovation opportunity for the kitchen appliance industry to create more efficient and user-friendly cooking appliances. - **Design Industry:** The concept hotplate project, like the Ribbon by Enzo Kocak, presents an opportunity for the design industry to create innovative and functional kitchen gadgets. - **Home Appliance Industry:** The use of coiling strip stove technology in the Ribbon by Enzo Kocak suggests a disruptive innovation opportunity for the home appliance industry to develop new heating technologies for various applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Portable Cooktop Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-hotplate.md) - [Multi-Functional Cook Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-cooking-appliance.md) - [Futuristic Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-on2cook.md) - [Hybrid Heating Countertop Cookers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-cooker.md) - [Stackable Modular Induction Cookers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cookmate-kitchen-appliance.md) - [Gas-Powered Toaster Oven Stoves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cook-nook.md) - [Stovetop-Friendly Oven Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-oven-concept.md) - [Dual-Orientation Countertop Ovens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwo-oven-and-multicooker.md) - [Camping-Friendly Compact Cookware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yunsoo-choi.md)
