This chair was designed by Sam Lugiano to be the [perfect outdoor lounger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/africa-collection). The Rhizome Chair combines the [design of a hammock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat) with a [built-in shade cloth](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shibumi-shade) to create a chair unlike any I've ever seen. The Rhizome Chair looks all too easy to fall asleep in, making me feel as though I should bid productivity farewell. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Outdoor Loungers:** Outdoor loungers are becoming more innovative and comfortable, providing disruptive innovation opportunities in the outdoor furniture industry. - **Hammock Design:** Hammock-inspired designs are redefining the concept of outdoor seating, offering opportunities for disruptive innovation in the furniture industry. - **Built-in Shade Cloth:** The integration of built-in shade cloth in outdoor furniture promotes comfort and convenience, presenting disruptive innovation potentials for the shade industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Furniture:** The outdoor furniture industry can explore innovative designs and materials to create more comfortable and appealing loungers, driven by the demand for relaxation and outdoor leisure. - **Furniture:** The furniture industry as a whole can leverage the popularity of hammock-inspired designs to develop unique and comfortable seating solutions for both indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Shade:** The shade industry can capitalize on the growing trend of built-in shade cloth in outdoor furniture, offering innovative shading solutions for various applications, including residential and commercial spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ergonomic Inflated Reclined Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johannes-faurebrac.md) - [Ergonomic Inflatable Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-lounger.md) - [Comfort-Focused Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grapy-lounge-chair.md) - [Drink-Holding Outdoor Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lago-lounge-chair.md) - [Sustainable Hi-Rise Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lollygagger.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Leaf-Inspired Modern Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-lounge-chair1.md) - [Vibrant Chaise Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versarest.md) - [Ergonomic Relaxation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zephyr-lounger.md)
