A new project called Revolights is hoping to improve [safety at night](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scoutlite-blinko) in a luminous manner. So how can anyone possibly improve visibility on a bike? The wheels have served as a good place for reflectors, but they don't always do the job. Revolights is a really interesting project that tackles that problem brilliantly. The designers have created a illuminating rim that attaches to the side of the wheels. Once you take this out for a spin at night, the entire wheel will light up and it'll be impossible for cars to miss. The whole project is a genius idea that will definitely improve [cycling visibility at night](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cycling-headlight). The creators are currently on the [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illuminated-cycling-helmet) campaign in hopes of making this product available for everyone. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Improved Night Cycling Safety:** Revolights' innovative illuminated wheels improve night cycling safety for riders across all experience levels. - **Innovative Bicycle Lighting:** Revolights' illuminating rims are a game-changer in addressing the crucial need for bicycle lighting at night. - **Smart Bicycle Accessories:** Revolights is part of a growing trend in creating innovative, technology-enhanced accessories specifically for bicycles. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bicycle Accessories:** Revolights falls under the bicycle accessories industry, offering a unique and much-needed product to the market. - **Cycling Safety:** Revolights and similar products have the potential to disrupt the cycling safety industry as they offer an innovative and effective solution to a widespread issue. - **Sustainable Transportation:** Revolights and other innovative bicycle accessories are contributing to the growth of the sustainable transportation industry as more people turn to cycling as a mode of transportation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tech-Visible Bike Reflectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radian-wingman.md) - [Illuminated Cycling Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illuminated-cycling-helmet.md) - [Omnidirectional Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vis-lightpool-taillight.md) - [Crank-Powered Bike Light Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wnd-helmet.md) - [Tech-Enhanced Safety Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rear-bike-light.md) - [Cyclist Safety Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-safety-device.md) - [Ergonomic Urbanite Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumos-nyxel.md) - [Synced Bike Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-light-system.md) - [360° Reflective Pedelec Helmet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflective-helmet-pedelec.md)
