Plastic bags have become a mainstay in the produce aisles of many grocery stores, which is something that UK grocery store brand Lidl aims to change with a new offering of reusable produce bags. Priced at 69p per pair, the bags are intended to eliminate the need for single-use plastic bags when picking up fresh fruits and vegetables from the store. This comes as part of the brand's commitment to cut plastic packaging by 20% by 2022 and even shift its own product packaging towards reusable, recyclable, renewable or refillable alternatives by 2025.

Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at [Lidl GB](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beef-mince-packaging) Georgina Hall spoke on the new reusable produce bags saying, "We have made changes – big and small – over the years to help contribute to this. Today’s announcement is the next step, and one we hope will help customers shift to a truly reusable option.”
