This is the successor to the [Retroid Pocket 3+](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retroid-pocket-4) released in late 2022. While most Retroid devices have a standard chocolate bar shape with the screen in the center and the controls on either side of the device, the supposed Retroid Pocket 4 will have a [clamshell design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-miyoo-mini-flip). The Retroid Pocket 4's silhouette suggests that it will have only one large screen on the top half, similar to the [Powkiddy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powkiddy-x18s) X18S. This means the controls, speaker, and additional function buttons will be on the bottom half of the device, rather than a second screen. The company's second teaser image for the device is an image of various star constellations with one being a star silhouette of the Retroid Pocket 4. This suggests a constellation theme for either the name or design of the device.
