This version features a metal shell and Hall effect analog sticks built-in, whereas the regular RP3+ features a plastic shell and physical analog sticks. The Retroid Pocket 3+ Metallic Edition was shown in a matte black finish in its demonstration video. It is not clear if there will be other colors available. The Retroid Pocket 3+ features support for Android 11, improved controls with clickable analog sticks with L3/R3 enabled, alternative dome switches or conductive rubber connections for the D-PAD and face buttons and a better build quality and better heat dissipation than the original model, as aluminum frames offer better thermal conductivity than plastic. Lastly, aluminum devices are praised for their durability and premium feel in the hand, meaning this will be a popular release from GoRetroid.
