# Pieced Pacman Platforms The Retro Mosaic Game Table Pays Tribute to 80s Video Games By Andrew Robertson | Published 2012-04-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-mosaic-game-table References: [folksy](http://folksy.com/items/3179186-Retro-mosaic-game-table-) This Retro Mosaic Game Table by Kiran Hungin is a delightful piece of 80s game culture-inspired artwork. This newest addition from the London-based mosaic artist's retro range is made out of a 1960s Formica table which was stripped down and treated before having the mosaic design applied. Although the dimensions aren't exactly to scale, it does not detract from the charming retro display of Pacman vs. Ghosts. The table is 69 cm long, 40 cm wide and 40 cm tall. If you're a collector of retro memorabilia then this coffee table would make an excellent addition to your stockpile of vintage goods. Perfect for children and child-at-hearts alike, the Retro Mosaic Game Table would surely make for a great conversation starter and gaming room staple. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Game Culture-inspired Artwork:** There is an opportunity for artists to create more game culture-inspired artwork, such as mosaic designs, that appeal to collectors and fans of retro memorabilia. - **Retro Memorabilia Collecting:** The market for retro memorabilia, including vintage gaming tables like the Retro Mosaic Game Table, is growing and presents opportunities for collectors and sellers to capitalize on the nostalgia trend. - **Conversation-starting Furniture:** As consumers look for unique and eye-catching pieces for their homes, there is an opportunity for furniture designers to create conversation-starting pieces inspired by pop culture, such as the Retro Mosaic Game Table. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the creation of more game culture-inspired artwork, like mosaic designs, to cater to the demand of collectors and enthusiasts. - **Collectibles:** The collectibles industry can tap into the growing market for retro memorabilia by offering unique and nostalgic items, including vintage gaming tables like the Retro Mosaic Game Table. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** The furniture and home decor industry can incorporate pop culture references and eye-catching designs into their products, like the Retro Mosaic Game Table, to attract consumers looking for conversation-starting pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Pillow-Like Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade1up-pacman-couchcade.md) - [Arcade Game Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pacman-arcade.md) - [Retro Gaming Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamestation-retro.md) - [Pixelated Gamer Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/govee-pacman-gaming-pixel-light.md) - [Retro Arcade Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/class-of-81.md) - [Retro Arcade Circuit Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atari-1.md) - [Micro Tabletop Arcade Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-arcade-machines.md) - [Nostalgic 3D-Printed Arcade Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock.md)
