# Mirrored Abode Artworks Restructure by Harumi Yukutake is Magically Reflective By Meghan Young | Published 2012-06-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/restructure-by-harumi-yukutake References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/harumi-yukutake-restructure-mirror-house) & [yukutake.net](http://www.yukutake.net/) As though straight out of a fairy tale, the [art installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble) titled Restructure by Harumi Yukutake is a home that has been completely covered in mirrors. Beautiful to behold, the reflective surface isn't made out of one big slab of mirror. Instead, it is comprised of [countless small circular mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli), which give the structure a magical, faceted appeal. Even more special is the fact that each mirror was hand cut by the Japanese artist himself. Thus, each circle is as unique as a fingerprint. Presented during Echigo-Tsumari, Japan's biggest [open air art festival](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterhouseoyama), Restructure by Harumi Yukutake invited guests to walk through its interior, which was also covered in mirrors. Reflecting the natural surroundings both inside and out, the installation makes the border between reality and unreality unclear. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Mirrored Abode Artworks:** The use of mirrors in art installations blurs the line between reality and unreality. - **Fairy Tale-inspired Design:** Designs that draw inspiration from fairy tales create a sense of magic and wonder. - **Handcrafted Art Installations:** Artworks created through meticulous handcrafting add a unique and personal touch. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the use of mirrors to create immersive and visually stunning installations. - **Tourism and Events:** Tourism and event industries can incorporate fairy tale-inspired designs to create captivating experiences for visitors. - **Craftsmanship and Artisanal Work:** Craftsmanship and artisanal industries can highlight the value of handcrafted artworks to cater to consumers seeking unique and meaningful products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Reflective Material Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirroring-dialogue.md) - [Mirrored Terrace Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terrace-house-mirage.md) - [Travel-Themed Fractured Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baggage-claim-mirrors.md) - [Mirrored Flower Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflecting-diverseness.md) - [Reflective Minimal Glamping Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alphaline.md) - [Optical Illusion Replica Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liberty-science-center.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Dynamic Structural Mirror Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zigzag-collection.md)
