The architects were inspired by timber; the material was the basis of the design from its conception to its execution. The objective was to enhance the relationship of the home to its urban context. The entry sequence of the home is characterized by the Jarrah door, a custom-designed structure with a bespoke handle made from recycled material. Inside the house, a hallway stretches in tree trunk form, and features [recycled Jarrah flooring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bangalow-road-house). The mirrored hallway is used as an organizational component of the home's interior plan. The main living areas feature [timber-clad cabinetry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-residence) and a dining table, tying the warm, woody look together. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Timber-focused Design:** Designing architecture with a primary emphasis on timber materials presents disruptive innovation opportunities in sustainable construction and eco-friendly architecture. - **Recycled Material Integration:** Incorporating recycled materials into architectural designs opens doors for disruptive innovation in the circular economy and sustainable building practices. - **Organizational Hallway Design:** Utilizing mirrored hallways as organizational components within a home's interior plan can inspire disruptive innovation in space optimization and efficient living solutions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction and Architecture:** The construction and architecture industries can explore disruptive innovation opportunities in timber-focused designs and integrating recycled materials into their projects. - **Sustainable Construction:** The sustainable construction industry can leverage timber-focused designs and recycled material integration to drive disruptive innovation in eco-friendly building practices. - **Interior Design and Home Organization:** The interior design and home organization industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by incorporating mirrored hallway designs that optimize space and improve efficiency. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wood-Framed Housing Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/common-woods.md) - [Warm Timber Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lookout.md) - [Timber-Clad Home Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thornbury-house.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Modern Timber Lake Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clt-house.md) - [Timber-Framed Undercroft Home Updates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balmoral-hillside-house.md) - [Contemporary Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-saidera.md) - [Timber-Framed Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-residence.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md)
