The white-washed facade and snow-covered landscape almost makes the house disappear for onlookers. The overall shape of the Residence des Grands Jardins house has an angled structure so that the entire building [fits snuggly onto the mountainside](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-slope). Upon entering the house, it's clear that the design is perfect for coming home after a long day of skiing. Wooden accents are found throughout the house, with expansive views of the mountainside and view below, as well as a cozy fireplace for warming up after a day on the slopes. The best part about this house is the [overhanging living room](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutal-honesty), which provides the best views of the land below. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **White-washed Facades:** Opportunity for innovative designs that blend seamlessly with natural surroundings. - **Angled Structures:** Potential for unique architectural designs that perfectly fit onto sloped terrains. - **Overhanging Living Spaces:** Space-saving solutions that offer breathtaking views as a key feature. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating environmentally harmonious structures. - **Interior Design:** Opportunities to integrate natural elements and cozy aesthetics into mountain retreats. - **Real Estate:** Potential for high demand in mountainous regions for properties that offer immersive natural experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Landscape-Honoring Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-forges-residence.md) - [Mountain Courtyard Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ski-house.md) - [Contemporary Mountainous Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountainous-home.md) - [Forest-Nestled Dynamic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/q88-residence.md) - [Thoughtful Lakeside Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakeside-living.md) - [Gabled Rural Serene Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-lauriers-house.md) - [Timber-Clad Canadian Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cime.md) - [Elevated Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cadree-perche.md) - [Snow Mountain Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowfall-house.md)
