Chronicling the manhole art movement that has overtaken Japan over the last several years, the book shows how artists have brought tradition to their streets. Flipping through the Remo Camerota 'Drainspotting' book, readers can see everything from Japanese folklore to manga. I'm sure it'll be as highly anticipated as Camerota's [Japanese street art book](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remo-camerota-graffiti-japan). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Manhole Art Movement:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for artists and designers to transform ordinary infrastructure into works of public art. - **Asian Art Movement:** Opportunity for cultural exchange and appreciation through the integration of traditional art forms into urban landscapes. - **Street Art Documentation:** Engaging content and storytelling potential for photographers, writers, and publishers to document and share unique art movements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists to explore new mediums and collaborate with municipalities to beautify urban spaces. - **Tourism and Travel:** Opportunity to promote cultural tourism and showcase local art movements as attractions for visitors. - **Publishing and Media:** Opportunity for publishers and media outlets to document and share stories of unique art movements, attracting diverse audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illuminated Public Artful Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-east-park.md) - [Skateboard-Themed Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rabbit-hole-1.md) - [Pottery-Inspired Artful Notebooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kintsugi-art.md) - [Café Jazz Heritage Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jazz-kissa.md) - [Japanese Culture-Honoring Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watoji.md) - [Unique Artistic Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amusebouche.md) - [Vibrant Artistic Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japonisme-1.md) - [Bi-Culture-Inspired Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bicultureinspired-art-exhibition.md) - [Artful Elevated Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doggy-bathroom-1.md)
