[SVOYA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-lizard) studio has transformed this three-bedroom Kiev apartment into an open-concept, [zen-like retreat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-house) that evokes serenity and relaxation upon entering the front door. Welcoming the homeowner is an indoor hammock that features a woven fabric pattern, ensuring comfort as well as a unique design piece. The wall adjacent to the hammock has a hanging shelf with candles and dimly lit lamps to help create a restful environment. The space's feature wall has a television against a wooden shingle pattern. The use of wood in the shingles and throughout the space helps to bring in elements of nature. The other end of the home features a [spa-like bathroom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-studio) and bedroom perfect after a long day at work. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Zen Apartment Designs:** Designing home spaces to create a sense of calm and escape from busy city life. - **Open-concept Spaces:** Creating flexible spaces with fewer walls that blend seamlessly for a comfortable living experience. - **Incorporation of Nature:** Bringing natural elements, such as wood, into interior design to promote relaxation and tranquility. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate more natural materials into design, such as sustainable wood options, to create calming and eco-friendly living spaces. - **Real Estate:** Developing properties with open concept layouts and nature-inspired design features to offer a unique selling proposition and competitive edge. - **Hospitality:** Incorporating Zen-inspired design elements into hotels, resorts, and other hospitality spaces to improve guests' experiences and create a tranquil ambiance. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tranquil Wabi-Sabi Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lagom.md) - [Nature-Connecting Warm Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baranowitz-kronenberg.md) - [Peaceful Wooden-Designed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-residence.md) - [Urban Skyline-View Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-with-a-view.md) - [Calming Third-Floor Italian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milan-apartment.md) - [Minimal Timber Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenhouse.md) - [Nature-Inspired Minimal Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-house-1.md) - [Modern Minimalism Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oldnew.md) - [Tranquil Elevated Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-house.md)
