# Modern Mirrored Furniture The Reflection Collection by Lucas & Lucas Encourages Perspective By Meghan Young | Published 2014-04-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflection-collection-by-lucas-lucas References: [trendland](http://trendland.com/reflection-collection-by-lucas-lucas/) & [lucasenlucas](http://www.lucasenlucas.com/) The Reflection Collection by Lucas & Lucas, a Dutch design studio made up of husband-and-wife duo Sander Lucas and Marijke Lucas-Geurts, is a modern furniture series that revolves around [mirrored surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zigzag-collection). Of course, the designs aren't entirely covered in looking glass materials. Instead, mirrors are incorporated in ways that encourage people to view each piece (and themselves) with a different perspective. Made up of chairs, a ladder hybrid and a [sculptural floor lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection), the Reflection Collection by Lucas & Lucas was presented during the Salon del Mobile 2014 in Milan, Italy, earlier this month. Each piece is juxtaposed mostly with wood. For instance, a mirrored cube fits into a wooden chair frame while the ladder provides both rungs to hang clothes off of and a long mirrored stand to view the outfits on. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mirrored Furniture Design:** Incorporating mirrors in furniture design can inspire new perspectives and unique experiences. - **Hybrid Furniture:** Combining multiple functions in one piece of furniture creates innovative and space-saving solutions. - **Sculptural Lighting:** Designing lighting fixtures as sculptural elements can add both functionality and aesthetic value. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore incorporating mirrors and hybrid designs in their products to stay competitive and innovative. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can use mirrored furniture and sculptural lighting to add unique dimensions and perspectives to their projects. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can offer customers innovative and multifunctional furniture pieces that incorporate mirrors and unique design components. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Suspended Mirrored Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-collection-1.md) - [Lucite Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel.md) - [Reflective Water-Themed Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakes-collection.md) - [Modular Glass Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modulo-collection.md) - [Mesmerizing Bright Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel1.md) - [Crystalline Acrylic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel-flare-collection.md) - [Elegant Glass Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebbles-collection.md) - [Modernist Artful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colendra.md) - [Glass Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cassina-2.md)
