# Skyline Storage Spaces The Reef Closet by Interlübke Brings the City Indoors By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-01-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reef-closet References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/archives/013590.php) & [interluebke.de](http://www.interluebke.de/products/index.php?product=reef) German designer Interlübke created the [Reef Closet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reef-house). Despite the name (and a photo in the gallery) which calls to mind coral and [tropical fish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet), the design was apparently inspired by a city skyline. The image of the closet sitting against a wall with a streak of daylight falling across it continues this imagery. The Reef Closet adds little warmth to a room. What it lacks in comfort, however, it makes up in [modernity and style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving). There must be hundreds of lofts desperately in need of the Reef Closet right now. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Skyline-inspired Furniture:** Opportunity to create innovative furniture designs inspired by city skylines. - **Minimalistic Storage Solutions:** Opportunity to develop sleek and modern storage solutions that prioritize style over comfort. - **Urban-themed Home Decor:** Opportunity to create home decor items that bring elements of the city indoors. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to produce city skyline-inspired pieces. - **Home Organization:** Opportunity for home organization companies to develop minimalistic storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate urban-themed home decor into their projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mirrored Freestanding Storage Closets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cayman-storage-mirror.md) - [Connected Curated Wardrobe Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lookandme-closet.md) - [Connected Smart Home Closets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oloo-smart-wardrobe.md) - [Elegantly Minimalist Retail Environments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retail-environment.md) - [Closet-Equipped Luggage Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flightable-closet.md) - [Progressive Storage Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-prt-collection.md) - [Discreet Folding Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf.md) - [Living Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive.md) - [Narrow Space-Saving Wardrobes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alta-narrow.md)
