# Cozy Red Brick Houses Kiki Archi Redesign an Existing Home in Changping District, China By Kalin Ned | Published 2022-08-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-brick-house References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2022/08/09/kiki-archi-anna-garden-house-redesign-china/) & [kikiarchi](https://www.kikiarchi.com/) Before this site just north of Beijing was occupied by a European-style home and now, the Japanese studio [Kiki Archi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skip-house) redesigned the structure as a red brick house with pared-back volume and a calmness-inducing [landscaped garden](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hops-house). Kiki Archi did this intentionally as the firm wanted to "re-establish the relationship between the house and the land." The residential building project is named the 'Anna Garden House.' The red brick house exterior creates a cozy feeling but this material motif also carries throughout the interior of the space. Splashes of brick create a balanced juxtaposition with wooden furniture inside the Anna Garden House. Kiki Archi also installed glass folding doors to allow a substantial influx of light.
