These intricate recycled button portraits are the creations of artist Lisa Kokin. Kokin has taken the concept of '[reduce, reuse, recycle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures)' to a whole new level.

Created much like a [mosaic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes), these recycled button portraits look like pixelated art from a distance. Only when viewed at close range do you finally see the individuality of each piece in the portrait. Lisa Kokin will be presenting her recycled button portraits at a Paris button-centric art exhibition in June 2010.
