The recycled tubs have one side cut open, then they're custom finished with brightly colored paint and fitted with coordinating fabric cushions. According to owner of Ruff House Art and graphic designer Jill Morrison, her inspiration for the [recycled bathtub](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruffini) came to her when she “was trying to come up with unique pieces of furniture for the 'retro' game room.” Be sure to check out the gallery for more photos. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 97% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Upcycling Home Furniture:** Businesses can explore upcycling vintage furniture with unique designs to provide eco-friendly options to customers. - **Custom Furniture Design:** There is potential for custom furniture designs that cater to different consumer needs and preferences. - **Retro-inspired Furniture:** Retro-inspired furniture designs offer businesses an opportunity to tap into the nostalgia trend and provide unique decor options. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Furniture design companies can explore new and creative ways to repurpose vintage furniture for their customers. - **Eco-friendly Home Goods:** Eco-conscious industries can explore upcycling as a way to reduce waste and create unique furniture pieces. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can target consumers looking for unique and eco-friendly furniture options by offering custom or upcycled furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Recycled Shoe-Made Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remix-maison.md) - [Removable Bathtub Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathtrope.md) - [Luxe Translucent Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lusso-amore-freestanding-resin-bath.md) - [Bold Upholstered Retro Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t4-sofa.md) - [Abandoned Bikes-Turned Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames.md) - [Oozing Cake-Like Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-furniture.md) - [Malleable Removable Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathtope.md) - [Cedar Wood Soaking Tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ofuro-bathtub.md) - [Customizable Minimalist Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acquabella-noon-slate.md)
