Significant Others' 'Reclaimed Timber Series' builds on the up-and-coming obsession with re-purposed items. The thick beds of wood have been taken from Melbourne's railroad stations, or more specifically, from the city's roving sleepers.

Designers Suzy Tuxen and Ryan Ward are the masterminds behind the Significant Others website. Their underlying aim is to avoid mass production, and to instead build hand crafted collections by way of recycled odds and ends.

The Reclaimed Timber Series falls within Tuxen and Ward's eco-friendly spectrum. The slabs are meant to be hung on walls, displaying an assortment of nicks. These jagged scratches are all a part of the desired look however, stirring up stories of travels throughout the Australian terrain.
