# Real-Life Costumed Vigilantes A Real Life Batman Turns Over a UK Burglar in Costume By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-03-07 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-batman References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/man-dressed-as-batman-turns-over-burglary-suspect-to-british-police/) & [reuters](http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/03/04/us-britain-batman-idUSBRE9230EX20130304) I’ve been waiting since childhood to see a real life Batman, and now that I have, I can die a happy man. Apparently this real-life Batman really exists and he’s actually fighting crime. In this case, this costumed vigilante brought in a wanted burglar who was terrorizing in West Yorkshire. According to Reuters, “the [costumed crime-fighter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snackstume) disappeared into the night without leaving his name.” This whole thing raises a couple of questions. First, what is Batman doing in the UK instead of fighting crime in his native Gotham? How long until we get a [real life Joker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arkham-asylum-set) threatening to poison the British water supply? Finally, why does Batman’s costume look so cheap? You’d think a real life Batman wouldn’t have such a dime store costume going on. Regardless, real life Batman, I salute you! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Real-life Costumed Vigilantes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating a market for real-life costumed vigilantes with advanced technology and high-quality costumes. - **Fighting Crime in Costume:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing innovative crime-fighting techniques and tools for individuals who adopt costumed identities. - **Superhero Culture and Justice:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Capitalizing on the popularity of superhero culture and leveraging it for initiatives in public safety and crime prevention. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Security and Surveillance:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing advanced surveillance and security technologies tailored specifically for real-life costumed vigilantes. - **Entertainment and Events:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating immersive experiences that allow individuals to step into the shoes of their favorite superheroes and fight crime in a controlled, simulated environment. - **Fashion and Merchandise:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing and manufacturing high-quality and authentic superhero costumes for enthusiasts and real-life vigilantes alike. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero-inspired Stealthy Puffers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solander-batman.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Whiskys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inishtree-speyside-single-malt.md) - [Film-Inspired Graphic Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dark-knight-collection.md) - [Dark Superhero Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-x-blvck-collection.md) - [Batman-Themed Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-small-kitchen-appliance-design.md) - [Cinema-Themed Bat Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bat-boxes.md) - [Superhero Luxury Fountain Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superhero-fountain-pen.md) - [Superhero Home-Inspired Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batcave-set.md) - [Buildable 3D Superhero Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotham-city-skyline-set.md)
