# Alien Portraits Cogliantry's 'Roswell' Series is Fine Art with a Touch of 'X-Files' By Cowbag | Published 2009-01-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-alien-portraits-cogliantrys-roswell-series References: [cakeheadlovesevil](http://cakeheadlovesevil.wordpress.com/2009/01/15/roswell-portraits-by-micheal-cogliantry/) & [michaelcogliantry](http://www.michaelcogliantry.com/) These Roswell portraits from US-based photographer Michael Cogliantry are just brilliant. Not only are they amazing portraits in their own right, they also manage to capture the madness that surrounds the Roswell site and UFO believers in general. He does so not in a mean way, but by very subtly poking fun at their costumes and extraterrestrial beliefs with a real fondness. What else would you expect from a man who attends the Roswell UFO festival? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Portraits:** Opportunity to innovate in portrait photography by incorporating unique and unconventional themes. - **UFO Believers:** Potential for disruptive innovation in catering to the needs and interests of the UFO believer community. - **Extraterrestrial Art:** Emerging trend in the art industry to explore and depict extraterrestrial themes and concepts. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography:** Innovative photography techniques and themes that cater to niche interests provide new opportunities for photographers to stand out in the market. - **Events and Festivals:** Event organizers and festival planners can tap into the UFO believer community by creating unique and engaging experiences centered around extraterrestrial topics. - **Art and Design:** Artists can leverage the growing interest in extraterrestrial concepts to create captivating and thought-provoking artworks that resonate with a broad audience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Anamorphic Fuzzy Glowing Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-vases.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Extraterrestrial Influencer Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-acquisition.md) - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md)
