Although just a concept at the moment, this peculiar piece changes your film camera into a digital one. Modeled after the traditional roll of film, the RE-35 cartridge does not, however, hold an actual roll of film. Instead, hidden within is a retractable image sensor. Available in three different versions (4, 8 and 12 megapixel), it can satisfy pretty much any resolution needs. Simply put the RE-35 cartridge into your film camera and once done shooting, you can connect it to your computer via USB cable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Retro Tech Revival:** The trend of incorporating modern digital elements into vintage devices opens opportunities for disruptive innovation in reviving analog technologies with updated functionalities. - **Hybrid Digital-analog Devices:** The rise of hybrid devices that combine digital and analog features presents disruptive innovation opportunities in merging the best of both worlds for a unique user experience. - **Nostalgic Technology:** The growing desire for nostalgia-driven experiences creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in developing products that cater to people's nostalgia while incorporating modern technology. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** The photography industry can capitalize on the trend of digital film rolls by offering retro-inspired cameras that incorporate modern digital features, providing a unique user experience. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can explore the development of hybrid digital-analog devices, such as smartphones with physical dials or knobs, to cater to consumers seeking a blend of modern technology and nostalgic design. - **Tech Accessories:** The tech accessories industry can tap into the market of nostalgic technology by creating accessories that add a vintage touch to modern gadgets, allowing users to customize their devices with retro-inspired aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Analog Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lomoapparat.md) - [Revived Analog Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lomo-mca.md) - [Reusable Disposable Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flashback.md) - [Camera-Mounted Photo Digitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photo-digitizer.md) - [Nostalgic Digital Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cs8.md) - [Digital-Film Hybrid Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm.md) - [Eco-Friendly Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lensfayre.md) - [App-Connected Upcycled Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digi-swap.md) - [Nostalgic 90s-Style Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/35mm-film-camera.md)
