Created by the team at Flite Test, the hovercraft is created through a relatively simple design process that can be done in about one day. The vehicle glides over snow, which is more than can be said for many RC cars that simply can't handle rugged terrain. The DIY Hovercraft RC Vehicle is crafted using a series of [foam pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-airplane) that have been stacked together and utilized for their lightweight construction. A series of fans enable the vehicle to maintain a [lofted aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rover-x10) and to glide over surfaces with relative ease. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **DIY Remote-control Vehicles:** Opportunity to create DIY remote-control vehicles with unique capabilities. - **Hovercraft Technology:** Opportunity to explore and develop innovative hovercraft technology for various applications. - **Rugged Terrain RC Vehicles:** Opportunity to design remote-control vehicles capable of handling rough terrains. ### Where This Applies - **Toy and Hobby Industry:** Opportunity for toy and hobby companies to create and market DIY remote-control vehicles. - **Outdoor Adventure Industry:** Opportunity for outdoor adventure companies to incorporate hovercraft technology into their products. - **Automotive Industry:** Opportunity for automotive companies to explore and adapt hovercraft technology for rugged terrains. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Luxury Electric Hovercrafts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arosa-hovercraft.md) - [DIY All-Terrain Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allterrain-tank.md) - [Angular Remote-Controlled Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rc-kit.md) - [Public Hovercraft Transport Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rapid-transit-hovercraft.md) - [Waterproof Self-Flying Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverair-aqua-drone.md) - [High-Speed Remote-Controlled Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xrc-brawler.md) - [Camera-Equipped Remote Control Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snt-micro-fpv-car.md) - [Lightweight Waterproof Drone Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoverair-aqua.md) - [Cardboard Airplane Builds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-airplane.md)
