# Musical Rodent Depictions This Rat Series by Ellen Van Deelen Will Please Rat Lovers By Ian Andrew Panganiban | Published 2013-06-13 | Updated 2013-06-23 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rat-series References: [incrediblethings](http://www.incrediblethings.com/pets/rats-playing-musical-instruments/) & [redbubble](http://www.redbubble.com/people/ellen/collections/85838-my-rat-photos) Photographer Ellen van Deelen’s musical rats series is something rat enthusiast will undoubtedly go bananas for. Deelen’s rat series showcases her pet rats, Moppy and Witje, playing with various musical instruments. The rats aren’t literally playing the [miniature musical instrument](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loog-x-hello-kitty), but simply posing with them—it would’ve been amazing if they were though. The musical rodent photo series showcases the many wonderful weird things a person can do with their pet rats in times of boredom. Most pet depictions that are created by pet owners aren’t nearly as creative or as cute as this photo series by Deelen. Hopefully, this musical rats series by Deelen will inspire pet owners to recreate similar photo series with their housebound companions. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Pet Photography:** There is a growing trend in pet photography, with opportunities for photographers to create unique and creative portraits of pets. - **Creative Pet Depictions:** Pet owners are increasingly looking for creative ways to depict their pets, opening up opportunities for artists to provide unique and personalized pet portraits. - **Animal-assisted Therapy:** The popularity of pet depictions can inspire the use of pets, such as rats, in animal-assisted therapy programs, providing a unique and alternative form of therapy. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography:** Photographers can explore the niche of pet photography, capturing unique and captivating images of pets for their owners. - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can offer creative pet depictions, providing individuals with personalized and artistic representations of their beloved pets. - **Therapy and Mental Health:** The field of therapy and mental health can incorporate animal-assisted therapy programs, utilizing animals such as rats to provide emotional support and therapeutic benefits to individuals in need. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Musical Instrument Pet Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-piano.md) - [Feline-Friendly Music Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-music-box.md) - [Minimalist Pet-Inspired Decor Items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimal-pets.md) - [Influencer-Inspired Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tomcat.md) - [Pop Star-Themed Animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taylor-swiftthemed-cats.md) - [Unique Hybrid Mystery Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animal-x-vegetable-gachapon.md) - [AI-Enhanced Pet Adoption Photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personality-pics.md) - [Panel-Made Mouse Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beetle-acoustic-panels.md) - [Humorous Cat Collectables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tired-cats-gachapon.md)
